Nice hostel but bring Oropax

Super nice and helpful staff members and downtown; yet the hotel is next to a club and it felt as if the bed were IN the club! Also the shower was not very warm; considering that it gets quite cold during night ... could be improved :)

Loud during night, the shower was not warm at all (you could be lucky but in general not too warm) and the breakfast was ok ... awful coffee ..

Very good rooms, if the Hostel is empty you can choose which one you'd like to stay. Beds are very comfortable.

Didn't have toilet paper in the bathroom, I had to ask for it on reception.

Locality

Room humidity lvl 1000 Parfumed sticks everywhere, together with humidity, two guys in one room, shower and toilet with no ventilation causing atmosphere of pure evil My clothes smell like those sticks even when washed No windows except one heading to the hallway/reception When you want to get in the hostel, you need to ring at the reception The ring is loud and difficult to ignore even when you are in a closed room next to the reception Also sounds of the street are hard to ignore Also sounds from dormitories are hard to ignore Breakfast expression: “meh” Well I am not a man who says anything in the hostel when offered an innapropriate room (mostly because I expect usual service-not this kind of ripoff, also because I am ashamed to do so), so since we got the room (and I am quite sure the rest of the hotel was empty), the only thing I wanted to do was to get out. Unfortunately we paid for the room before we first saw it. Do not do the same mistake.

A pleasant hostel but be street smart walking around

The staff was friendly and helpful. It was easy walking distance to Bolívar Square, downtown walking tours, and more. It’s small and quiet.

The Candelaria area itself is a little sketchy. This hostel is located with many others and if you are going to stay in Candelaria, it’s as good as any. While I was glad to be near the museums, I thought it was wise to avoid walking alone at night in the area.

A safe haven in the Candelaria

The hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location was so central to the Candelaria area, which is definitely worth exploring. As a single traveller, I liked the secure feeling I had inside the hostel, as the front doors had to be opened from the inside. Great value for money!

I appreciated one of the hosts making me an early breakfast, but the coffee was disappointing (very weak and not at all Colombian!)

Nightmare - stay away

Location

We arrived at night and wanted to check in - we booked triple room (one double and one single bed) for 90.000 colombian pesos. Man who was working there told us that he don't have a room for 3 persons, and that it is some error on booking.com. We showed our reservation, but he didn't mind. He offered us 2 double rooms for which we should pay double price 180.000 COL. As we didn't want to accept that, he finally gave us a room for 3 persons but increased the price to 120.000 COL. He put us in the small smelly humid room next to the reception, without windows. On the other side of our wall was a night club, playing loud music till 3am. It was a nightmare and we didn't sleep at all. And to make the whole situation more strange, almost all the rooms in the hostel were free, so he could accomodate us in a normal room. Also, the shared bathroom didn't have hot water. He didn't give us any receipt for the cash payment, and he even asked us to cancel our reservation on booking (which we didn't do) - so obviously he is cheating not only customers, but also booking.com.

Pretty bad, checked out next morning, do not recommend this place

We reserved 2 rooms through booking.com, by the time of our arrival one of the rooms was rented out to someone else and since we arrived in the middle of the night we had to stay in one room with one bed till next morning, we were charged for 2 rooms, the room didn’t have any windows and any air flow, bedding had holes, staff didn’t speak a word in English even though on booking.com they were saying “we speak your language “

I had a very pleasureable trip

Close to the area I wanted to explore and I was very impressed by the price . I was very impressed with how affordable the excursion was and that made the entire trip much much more enjoyable.

I would have liked a more fluent English contact but I know that is difficult in bogota
